I would go Taurus or any other gun maker before S.W. I for one will never own one after they sold out like they did by siding with Clinton and Gore.. how easy we forget.

The best 22 revolvers are either an early Smith (expensive and hard to find), the Colt single actions (ditto) or a Ruger Single Six.

I have never owned a Taurus or Charter revolver but have heard enough fom those that do so I will probably never own one.

Seriously, if I was going to buy a 22LR revolver today, it would probably be a Ruger Single Six. They're well made, very accurate and known for giving little trouble.

I had the "Son of Sam" Model by Charter Arms, it worked fine. I just screwed up and bought some gun show reloads, which were really hot, and scared my wife, who wouldn't carry it after that.

I like the Mod. 94, it's really good in the 4in model. I replied to your post on the one and only revolver thread with a pic, so check it out if you get a chance.

I've owned two of the "Single-Six's", and they are superb and affordable!

I have the Charter Arms Bulldog and the timing and lockup are nice and tight. But the machining is rough and overall it is built for one thing, defensive carry. The Taurus revolvers, I have heard have come a long way but still have a weaker finish. The S&W revolver are the best and most expensive. Rugers are probably your best bet in my opinion, good guns but their triggers are not as crisp as a S&W'a but that can be fixed with some shooting and/or a trigger job.

Are you stuck on a revolver? I just got a buckmark and they are great guns!

I own several Taurus revolvers. I'd trust my life with any one of them.

I get sick and tired of seeing people bash S&W for "selling out" to the Clinton gun laws. If you were the people in charge of Smith & Wesson, and you knew that the laws were going to pass and you couldn't stop them, would you fight them tooth and nail, risk making enemies with the US Congress (not a great business move), and jeopardize your company and all of your employees's livelihood.... or would you get on board, realizing that whatever happened could be undone whenever they got out of office, and you'd just have to start the groundwork early to try to help your cause?

I'm not positive, but I'd be willing to be that while S&W was "selling out" to Clinton, they also had people at that moment laying groundwork for letting the mag restriction laws sunset when the time came.

PLUS, oddly, there seemed to be enough magazines made to get around the grandfather part of the law to where nobody ever really was unable to find a high capacity magazine while the laws were in place.

So, you can continue to bash S&W and Ruger for having to play ball a lot more Congress-friendly like than Sig, HK, and GLOCK (all.. wait for it.. not US based!) had to, or you can realize that they did all they could to survive in the face of unfriendly government actions.

I see you are a sponsor of XDTalk, sir. Do you sell magazines? Say you did, and the law changed so you could ONLY sell 10 round mags, no grandfathered in full capacity mags allowed. Would you stop selling all magazines altogether to protest the unfair law? I doubt it. I doubt anyone would. You gotta do what you can.

/rant.
