xd problems, quickly and precisely diagnosed and 100% fixed.
m&p out close to 2 years and still no precise diagnosis of whats even causing the problem, much less a fix for it. only a POSSIBLE fix for it.......hit and miss...........not reliable in my book. Anyway, like i said, the problems changed my decision on which to buy. I couldnt care less bout what brand they are or any of that childish fanboy crap. lol I hope they do diagnose and fix it, then i'll get me a fullsize 45 or maybe a compact 45 if they have one out at that time. I definately want one!!!! They are soooooooooooo comfy!!!! And that crimson trace laser is awesome for it too..........makes me drool. lol

I am very interested in your results and the results of other MP owners as I am torn between the XD and MP. I have shot both and it is hard to choose. FYI - Apparently the rebate was extended.
I visited the MP forum and am wondering if the issues reported are just being rehashed vs actual problems now. Sooo I know a lot of you have both the XD and the MP - have you had consistant problems with either one? |

Really now...its all a big crapshoot..whatever you buy?
By now, according to the internet, I should have experienced the following: XD-40 Service (bought in 2000): rusty slide, cracked locking block, bad extractor, broken guide rod Glock 22(bought in 1994): K-boom! Beretta 96(bought in 1999): cracked locking block, constant feed jams, slide spearation. Guess what...I have had NONE of these things happen and I shoot these guns quite a bit. In fact, I have never experienced a feed jam in any of these pistols. According to the internet, all 3 of these popular guns should have crapped out by now, but they're 100% reliable. Imagine that. If S&W fixed the MP mag drop issue...great. S&W has gret customer service (that I know from my revolver days) so i have no doubt they will make good on it. After looking around, I did notice that many have fixed their M&P mag drop problems and this is not an issue with the newer ones. This guy WAS asking about an early MP40...so there was cause for worry...maybe a little. Maybe S&W got tired of their reputation for making great wheelies and so-so autos..who knows? Bottom line: buying any gun that is fairly new can be a crapshoot. - Brickboy240

M$P 9c
Just bought one the other day, put 150 rds through it no problem, with crap reload military casings I bought unknown from someone. That has got to be a test of function and stupidity on my part. It went BANG bang bang BANG SUPER BANG then back to bang. So they were loaded all over the place, didnt look great to begin with either. But the mp ate it all no problems. Just one hiccup with a bullet not seated, which I missed when loading the magazine. Which is no fault of the gun.
But I love it. It fires dead on , smooth action. Little jumpy with some hotter ammo, but none the less I am hooked. I almost sold my glock 29 to buy this. But ended up keeping it. Just thought I would toss in my 2 cents on my experiences so far. |

An M&P 9c is in the future. (Unless you guys can convince to me go XD.) |
