KelTec PF9 help

I just bought a KelTec PF9 and I field stripped it to clean all the oil and now I can't get it back together. I read the bulletin on www.ktog.org and its still not working for me. I can get the assembly pin in the hole but it never clicks and so the slide will not slide shut because it catches on the lip of the assembly pin. I've tried holding the barrel down while pulling the slide back but apparently I'm not doing something right. Any help?

Figured it out after 1 hr of messing with it and bleeding finger tips. There is a small metal bar that has to be depressed to allow the assembly pin to go all the way in. I had to use a paper clip to hold it down and it slid right in......yes, now i feel dumb

Glad you figured it out. I am considering getting one of these to carry while hiking.

I bought one out of curiosity. I don't plan on carrying it.

From the Keltec website...

Quote:
Q: What is the expected life of a Kel-Tec firearm
A: All Kel-Tec firearms have an expected life of 6,000 rounds or more.

i was wondering about that after you mentioned the life of them, would their lifetime warranty replace it when its deemed worn out?

i still think i have heard just to many problems about them to try it.

I don't think I've noticed anything on KTOG forum about replacing a worn Keltec. I think they only fix warranty issues. Besides, not many people have put 6,000+ rounds through a pocket pistol. They are almost brutal to the hands.

Many will argue that they are not range guns. They say you shoot a couple of hundred through them then carry them. Yes they are hard to shoot but if you have to you'll be full of adrenaline. On the other hand, many will also say you should be proficient in shooting the gun you carry. Those two schools of thought seem to contradict each other and I lean more towards the latter. That's why I practice with an XD and carry and XD.
