Alas, I want a P22 again

I sold off my first one because of the constant issues with FTF and FTE/FTC's. Apparently, those issues are fixed now. I shot my dads this weekend, put 250 round of cheap Federal ammo through it, and it was flawless.

Anyone know what these are going for? I think he paid around 260 for his.

Also, apparently theres a way to tell the date of manufacture via the serial number, but I cant find that information anywhere. Any ideas on that one?

I just picked up a barely used P22 for $199 for Christmas. But BNIB they are going for $240-250 around here. And no idea about the serial number ordeal.

Look for an "A" by the serial number of the mags. IIRC someone posted they are on "B" now?

You can fix crankwalk now too!

Yeah, dad's mags are "B". He also said the two letter stamp on the slide is indicative of year, but I cant find the information online. I might have to get him to tell me how that works again or where he found it.

Eureka!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walther...roduction_Date

Quote:
The production year is located on the receiver and is visible through the ejection port when the slide is closed. The year is indicated with a two letter code where A=0, B=1, C=2 and so on to J=9. In the image you can see the receiver is labeled with AH indicating a production year of '07.
Then I found this:

My buddy just bought a P22 B model for about $250 new, it's shoots fine except the front site falls out and it's too small.

That's good to hear. I gave up on our first one too. Way to many problems. At least 2-3 a mag full.
Might be one in the future.
