Sigarms Mosquito
So, anyone think the Mosquito is a good rimfire gun? they look nice but i dont know if they can perform up to their looks. I've read some reviews and it seems like they jam alot. Anyone have any thoughts on it?

Buy a Ruger MKIII or 22-45 or maybe a Browning Buckmark and you'll have less headaches.

Most semi-auto rimfire pistols have some jamming problems unless you run some of the better ammo through them. The Sig Mosquito has the WORST trigger if any pistol I have ever shot. I couldn't smoothly squeeze it, I had to pull on the thing. I think the Walther P22 is a much better rimfire than the Sig and at least $100 cheaper.

Thats no lie, my MK2 Govt model only feeds Win Powerpoint reliably. They dont make them Guns or .22 Ammo like they used to.

Sig looks sweet. My buddy wants one.
I have a P22 and it jams up decently. I sent it back to the factory and they replaced a couple of parts and told me I need to buy higher end ammo for it. Jerks. My biggest complaint is that it loves to toss the brass right back at your face. It is a fun gun to shoot, however. It's a toss up. It is the least reliable of all my weapons, but the cheapest to shoot also. |

I currently have a BuckMark II and I love that thing, but my wife wanted a simpler gun so I wanted her to have a firearm that works similar to an actual centerfire pistol so she can work mines as well..i have read problems with the lower end ammo, is there a way to fix the trigger pull to be softer or is it the nature of the action?

If you own or shoot 1911s, Hi-Powers, XDs or SIGs, the Ruger 22-45 makes the most sense.
Why? Well besides the fact that it comes with pretty decent trigger, has a good reputation and is reasonably priced, it feels very similar to these other pistols. Many of the controls are in the same places. Why buy a 22 practice piece that is different from your centerfires? If you're not going to drop 300 bucks plus on one of the 1911 or other 22 conversino kits, the Ruger 22-45 is the best option. I have shot a Ruger 22/45 for the better part of ten years and it has been very reliable and I have not replaced anyting but one mag spring that got weak. Pretty good for a pistol I got new for 179 bucks. - Brickboy240

My P22 shoots wonderfully!
The occasional FTF during break in, but now it eats everything I feed it! It's a lot of fun to spend $10 on 550 rounds of federal from walmart and plink all day! But don't get me started on the accuracy...not the greatest, but still fun to shoot, or a cheap training tool. Get a P22 from Sportsman's Warehouse! I got mine on sale there for $229. |

I shot mine once. No problems with the CCI MiniMax .22LR ammo. Tried two kinds of cheapy ammo without much luck. Sold it, since I needed the money for other things. I'd suggest getting a Ruger, like the other posts mention. If you really want to get one, don't pay more than $350 retail, or $299 at a gun show. If you insist on spending $400+, make it a 9mm, at least...

How about a CZ 75 Kadet in .22LR. Does anybody have an experience with this model?
