Thinking of buying a Bersa Thunder 40 any comments?

I handled one of these at the gun shop today and I have to say I was impressed. Does anyone have any experiance with this gun, any problems?

Most people will say their reliability and funtion is 50/50 . Its a hit and miss. I really wanted the Bersa Thunder .380 but after a long search on Bersa opinions and experiences , I decided not to get one . Lots say just to send it back to Bersa and they will treat you good , but I want a pistol thats good right off the bat. Hope this helps .

Get it!

I say go for it and get it! Bersa is a fine gun, that just so happens to be inexpensive. I would dare to say that just as many Springfields, Taurus's, S&W's, etc. go back to the factory as do the Bersa's. I have a Bersa .380 and it has never, NEVER had a problem. If you want more info, check out www.bersatalk.com A lot of great guys over there that can answer any questions you have.

Wishful thinking. EVERY maker gets some sent back now and again. My SA XD's are perfect, but my SA 1911 sucks. That's 50-50 for me on SA types. Should everyone not by SA now? I'd rather have great customer service than HOPE for perfect out of the box.

Ive got a Firestorm Mini 40. Same gun as the Bersa Thunder 40. At first it wasnt accuate, but after about 100 rounds its spot on. Get the nickle finish though. The black wears off easily. Only thing I dont like about mine is there is no dovetail so watch out for the hammer!

Thanks for the forum link I am still back and forth over the Bersa. I've heard the feed ramp gets beat up on the 380 but I know the larger bore Bersa guns are a different breed from the 380.

Thumbs up

I have a Bersa Thunder 9 UC that functions perfectly and was accurate right out of the box.
I believe the 40 is very similar...

Bersa

I have a 380, 40 & 45. They have all given me the same amount of problems. Zero. I shoot and carry them as much as I do my XD, Glock,
Colt & Sig. They are a great price and very reliable. And mine are all very accurate.
