Remington 597 .22LR Rifle
Hey guys, here is my latest edition - a Wal-Mart Camo Remington 597 in .22LR. I added a Simmons 22 Mag 3-9x32 Adjustable Objective scope, a Rock Steady bipod, and a Volquartsen trigger hammer to bring the trigger pull down to about 3 lbs. I only have under 200 rounds through it, but it is shooting great! If I do my part, I can easily cover my 5 shot groups with a quarter. The camo finish is nice and dull, and looks great in the Missouri landscape.
It is a great shooter, and for the $$$ I would recommend it over a 10/22 for you guys who don't want to drop a ton of cash on customizing a .22LR. It definitely shoots better than any out of the box 10/22 that I have ever seen. ![]() Breakdown: Remington 597 - $140 (Wal-Mart) Bipod - $30 (Wal-Mart) Volquartsen Hammer - $30 (MidWay) Simmons 22 Mag Scope - $55 (MidWay) TOTAL: $255

I have one that is stainless with a laminated stock.
It looks nice and is fun to shoot. However, it doesn't really function well with the cheaper ammo. FTE on like every 5th round. Other than that I like it. I would love a 30rnd magazine for it though. That is my second major complaint. |

I have one also, I had issues with it at first but after a little polishing and loosening the guide rods a tad it runs 100% now. It can easily shot as well or better than a stock 10/22 for less money. But there is not as many after markets parts for them.

What keeps you from getting a high capacity magazine? You do know that they have them right?

I have one too but have barely gotten to shoot it, the early mags had some real feed problems, but just a few tweaks might make this into one heck of a shooter
