Did Sig get their act together?

I know they've had some QC issues popping up in the past. Just curious if anyone has bought one lately and what type of out of the box quality & reliability they have experienced.

Quality and reliability, not sure about that. But they do make some nice looking guns.

I think some one on the Sig forum just called for a hit.

I've all but ruled one out until I hear consistent praise on their reliability and out of the box performance - again.

Stay away from the .45 models and you will have a better sucess rate. Get an older one and you will be satisfied for a long time.

The P220 series is dead reliable. The only issue having weapons that I've heard or known of is with the Mosquito and their initial GSR runs. As I understand it the newer runs of the GSR are GTG. The Mosquito is still a picky botch but they resolved the trigger assembly issues.

The P220's in .45 have known extrator issues.

I have a friend who's best friends with the famous Bruce Gray of GraysGuns, who makes his living working on Sigs and has been a pro shooter for HK and Sig. He has had nothing but problems with the 220 in the .45 over several guns.

No problems from either one of my Sigpro 2022s in 9mm. I knew the GSRs and Mosquitos had issues. I think the classic P226R P220R, AND P229R models are GTG also.

The 9's and .40's are GTG.

Strange, but my 1977 P220 Euro has been the most reliable 45ACP pistol I have ever owned. I haven't replaced a thing on it in the many years I have owned the thing and its very accurate.

SIG 45s unreliable? First time I have heard that one! Maybe their newer offerings, but the Swiss and German made P-series SIGs are very reliable pistols.
