I don't find spent brass that hard to pick up.....this is not a product I need, would purchase, or would use.

Crazily enough, I own one. I only use it when I'm tossing lead downrange to break something in. When I'm ready (200-400 rounds later) to really shoot it, then I eliminate the catcher. There is a use for it, just not when you're planning to shoot seriously! It saves my having to bend over and pick up those extra 200-400 cases. That's good enough of a reason to have one for me! Plus, I got it for free.
