Inexpensive, CC choices. What's your call?

First off may I say that I have been a lurker around here for a while. About a year ago I purchased a XD40. Very happy with that purchase. Great gun but a little big for every day carry, IMHO. Just picked up a Lasermax for it and love it. Although I am afriad that it actually might reduce my shooting skills. Instead of pushing the front sight, I am looking for the little red dot. Oh well after the newness wears off I'm sure I will return to shooting without it on.

Anyway, to my question for all of you. I have been reading extensively on XDTalk about CCW choices. What I am looking for is a smaller CCW. Maybe a single stack, IWB or pocket holster. I am thinking of going either 9mm (for cost of ammo) or 380. Like to keep price under $300. Really like my lasermax so it would be great if I could get it on my purchase as well. I have read really good things here on XDTalk about the Bersa. A ppk would be nice but not going to happen within my price range. Do you like gunbroker.com? What are you thoughts? Any and all advice would be appreciated.

Thanks in advanced,

LDMF

a kel-tec p11 would be one to consider or you may be able to find a used taurus pt111 for under $300.

Bersa Thunder .380, or the CC model. Just bought a CC NIB yesterday and paid around $280.0O OTD.
Found a KelTec P3AT used for $220.00.
The Bersa is way more fun to shoot than the KT.

I'd go with the Kel-Tec P3AT. I have three of them with no issues. Great gun for the money. See if you can find the Hard Chrome version. These should be around of a little more than $300. The blued version should sell for around $250, and the Parked version between $280-300. I carry one every day. If you want more info, check out KTOG.org.

Good Luck!

Keltec P3AT .380. It's the cat's meow of pocket guns. 11 oz. with loaded mag. 7 shot capacity. Slips into your jeans pocket and you can get it out. Slips into a vest pocket or just about any other pocket. You simply won't find a smaller, lighter .380.

It is well built and reliable. And the company backs the gun with great service. It has a large following of very happy users.

While the .380 is not as powerful as the 9mm, you can use a deep penetrator like Corbon DPX and get good penetration and good expansion. It is certainly more than adequate for a backup gun. If I were a BG I would throw my hands in the air in the face of one of these weapons. No way that I would chance tangling with a .380 DPX round.

And the price is right!! Highly recommended.

PS... PF9 is just a little bit too big to fit comfortably in your pocket. You can get it in but it is hard to get it out. If you were going to wear it on a belt or IWB that would be fine but then why not get a Kahr PM45 or other midget .45 ACP or .40? A pocket gun needs to fit in your pocket.

Because its under $300 unlike most other choices. Plus it maintains a narrow slide due to the 9mm round as where most 45s or 40s are quite a bit beefier.
