Walther P22

I'm thinking VERY VERY seriuosly about getting one in the 3.4" to help stay in form practice, since the .22 rounds are a heck of a lot cheaper than the .45acp.

I keep hearing good things about them & the price is good. Any thoughts?

I love mine. Most guys here love theirs, too. One thing to watch for is a stubbornness (at first) with low grade ammo. Sometimes federals don't like to feed quite right. Usually this problem goes away after a few hundred rounds. I personally have had not one single problem with mine and it's been over 1k rounds so far (mostly federals). YMMV.

joe

PS- just so you're not confused by my post, I recommend going ahead with the purchase.

Love mine as well...it needed hi velocity ammo the first 500 rounds or so, but now it eats anything I load up.

It does like to be run a little wet though...don't let the rails dry up and it'll run forever and ever!

Thumbs up

Bought one for the wife (yeah, right ). It was stubborn with hollow point ammo at first but I polished feed ramp and it now has 500 rds thru it and shoots great.
I would recommend it for a fun, cheap ammo gun! We paid about $259 new for ours at a gun show.

LOVE mine.... I've shot nothing but Reminington Hipoint thru it and zero, zero problems. Very sweet shooting and very accurate pistol (fixed, not floating barrel.)

Recommend highly.

Just bought one for my wife... carbon fiber frame... she loves it. Brand new still.. only about 60 rds through it. Not a problem at all though...

Nice frame, I haven't seen one of those before. I wouldn't like it on most guns, but it works on the P22.

Bought one for my youngest daughter to shoot (11 yrs). She loves it and the gun range is one of her favorite places to go. "Her" P22 has functioned great. I've only used Remington ammo in it (Golden Bullet value packs from Bass Pro or Wal-mart) and it's done great with that ammo. I've read that P22s sometimes don't like the lower velocity ammo, so be aware of that.

The P22 is currently at the gunsmith's because the pistol doesn't work in double-action unless I keep the mag pressed up into the gun. Read something over at rimfirecentral.com that says the magazine may be binding on something up in the action. Other than that, it's been a great little plinker.
