Convenience. A lot of people are too lazy to shop around. I agree, their prices are outrageous.

They price match too! A lot of people never thing about that.
I shopped around for prices on my Savage 10FP and then went to GM and they matched the best price quote I had. Saved me from driving all over town since I'm only a few miles from GM. |

I called around and asked for prices from other gun shops, then went to GM and told them what the best price was, and where. They matched it no questions... But the guys at the gun counter see me there a LOT.

GM will price match on their local competition's prices only, NOT THE INTERNET! They consider local to be within a 1 hour drive. I think another stipulation is that they can't be clearance or going out of business prices though I'm not sure about sale prices. I believe you can go to their website and they give the details.

They didn't give instant credit approval when I went there... I was shopping for a Walther P22 that was on sale there... I got a free hat out of the deal, but took my money over to Cabela's instead...
The person at the Cabela's CC desk was able to tell me everything... When I'd get my card, the APR's (in store and outside purchases), everything... The person I spoke to at Gander said "Uhh... all that information would be on our website if you want to look there"...

Good to know that there is now a Gander in St. Augustine, as I spend part of my year there. Now I have something more to do than spend all of my time at Scarlett O'hara's, the Milltop Tavern, and the British Pub. LOL

The prices at the new GM in Lubbock were outrageous. But they're like any big box chain, they know sheeple will blindly follow the herd in, pay what is asked, and go home thinking they got a great deal. I think Cabelas is worse, I have occasionally found a good deal at GM.
