Sig 228 or 229R DAK?

I need some help and opinions. I'm gonna get a Sig, that part is a done deal. Now, do I get a 228 9mm or 229 DAK? I know many prefer the older models, but I am not a big fan of DA/SA. The DAK trigger is better for me, but is it worth the trade off of getting a newer model? Brickboy, Luv my Sig, anyone please let me know..Thanks

If you're not a fan of the DA/SA, get the DAK trigger. I demo'd a 226 with the DAK trigger and it's smooth as heck. I've never been able to transition from DA to SA without flinching. I guess I'm so used to shooting guns with consistent pulls.

My (recent) introduction to handguns was with a Sig 226 9mm in DA/SA and a 229 9mm SAS. Not having to "unlearn" years of DA/SA experience with the DAK trigger system, I can say that by the end of the day, I much prefered the 229 SAS. Just my $.02.

My next handgun will be the 229 DAK in .40.

I personally feel that the older w. german sigs are of better quality than the newer ones. Having said that, the newer models are still great quality. If you don't like the DA/SA, and want a sig, then definitely go with the 229 DAK.

Some people on sigforum seem to think that the 228 is better balanced than the 229. I have owned both, and I couldn't tell any difference.

Bud's has some really good prices on sigs right now. I just picked up a p220 compact off this list and couldn't be happier.

021411, You might want to give this guy a look, his prices seem pretty good. If you get one from him, tell him Joel sent you. This is where I'm considering, so maybe he will give me some love on the price, LOL..

I'm pretty sure they are CPO's, but they are supposedly checked out pretty thoroughly by the guys at Sig. Sorry if it makes you bust out the plastic before you were ready.

They aren't CPOs. A CPO has a blue/red band taped to the grip.

jalley,
Thanks for the clarification. That is what I get for assuming. Doesn't Sig also have some type of service other than the CPO program where they will "tune-up" or refurbish a gun?
