Shot my Mosin M-44 for the first time
I took my M-44 to the shooting range the other day sorry no pictures but I wanted to get a feel for it. I shot 30 rounds 15 with the bayonet extended and 15 with out. The shots fired with the bayonet extended where on target but a little left and about a 1.5 inch group. The shots fired with out the bayonet extended where about 6 inches to the left and about a 4 in group. Rifle shot well and kicks like a mule but sure was fun to shoot.

M-44
I have been a C&R collector for some time and I think the M-44 might be my favorite rifle of all time. The rifle was actually designed to be shot with the bayonet extended, as you found with your grouping.
Cheers and enjoy it. HSD |

The M44 was my first old rifle, too, and I love it. I later purchased a near-mint m91/30, to sit alongside it. Well, it needed company!

Love my M-44 as well. Had it at the range yesterday and it always gets WTF looks from people the first time it goes off. For folks who have not gone down the C&R path, I highly recommend it!
When you shoulder starts getting tired, the small size slip-on Limbsaver pad fits the Mosin's it quite nicely.

Find a place to shoot it in the dark. I affectionatley call my M44 "the flamethrower."
