cost of a call?

AB1471 - Microstamping Bill is a law to require gun manufacturers to implement technology that would stamp a unique identifier on each casing fired from a semi-auto handgun that can be traced back to that gun. This law will also make it illegal to buy, sell, trade or transfer any semi-auto that does not have this microstamp.

- doesn't affect revolvers.
- doesn't take into account those who reload.
- doesn't take into account that many BGs steal their guns and don't buy from your LGS
- doesn't take into account that wear and tear would remove the stamp
- doesn't take into account that you can simply take sandpaper to the breech face and chamber to remove the markings.
- doesn't take into account that after several people have been wrongfully imprisoned, it would not be useable in court since it would be easy to establish "reasonable doubt" to a jury simply by showing prior foul-ups
- doesn't take into account the if BGs plan ahead, they can simply pick up spent casings from your local range

Thank you for this...line is busy but I'll keep trying.

P.S. I also would like to thank you for being level headed and perspicacious enough to post this rather contribute something like the "Make California Secede" thread.
To those people: Guess what folks, though it may be the case that Ca. is a testing bed for new gun restrictions, as of right now it doesn't affect you; but it will soon. We here in Ca. have to deal with our anti-gun crowd and attempt to rationalize with them, your support in this matter would be appriciated. Why post comments like: "Californians are dumb." "Yeah, let's never go there." "Yeah +1." How does this engender empathy or understanding among fellow gun owners?

By the way, what's going on in your small, backwoods, dust bowl, hillbilly, state?
Oh, that's right, no one cares.

Fixed it for you

Chrisxd45t is right.. While I don't like california at all... it is still seen as some sort of prodigy child of the united states. If/when legislators DECIDE that what ever is happening in california is "working" (even if they are basing this on zero actual facts) it can severely impact us in other states down the road... Just because your state has great gun laws now doesn't mean it's going to stay that way...

Remember the libs want some sort of make believe socialist utopia for the ENTIRE country not just California.
What effects Californians effects us all in one way or another.

Of course I also don't think my state is a small, backwoods, dust bowl, hillbilly, state.

Well at least not small... :P

Thank you robot lobster from the future. Like I mentioned before, I'm aware how Ca. is used to test new laws. My main point, that everyone can see in the quote above, was how others really haven't done much to help this issue by mocking, and was calling upon them to support us before it does affect them.

Oh, that's right, no one cares.
This was intended as humor in response to another, rather myopic, thread. You all might know the one.

I have to ask, are you a robotic lobster sent to the past from the year 9595 to save the great, great, great, great, great grandfather of 'Goblox', the future leader of the lobster rebellion against a race of "Master Crabs."
-Sorry, I watch too many cartoons.
