New Russian Bomb

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,296441,00.html

Whaddya think? True statement or B.S.? Anyone ever hear of this before? Sounds like Iran's "new indefensible" underwater missile.

I'm gonna go ahead and call B.S. on this. To say that you have a bomb as powerful as a nuke of similar size that doesn't use nuclear technology and doesn't emit radiation means, quite frankly, that the Russians have some sort of super-elite knowledge of otherworldly physics I don't buy it... unless they have been sharing intelligence with the little green men from above.

The Associated Press makes baby Jesus cry.

Sounds like a Fuel - Air explosive type weapon. Remember, these are the guys who had tested a 50 megaton weapon back in the 60s which to this day was the largest ever air dropped. I would put nothing past these guys.

Well, back in the 80's they used to parade missles through the streets and a new tank. Turned out both were vismods (fake) that were made to make a visual impression on the world. The bomb could be fake or it could be real. At least they are seeking to work outside of the nuclear effort. Maybethey will use one of these on their own homegrown terrorists in Chechnya.

Don't know...but it's nice to see they are concerned with the environment
"Unlike a nuclear weapon, the bomb does not pose an environmental threat from the release of radiation, he added."

More power to them, I say they should build as many of these things as they can. Since they have to be delivered by their Bear bombers, which are slower than molases on a cold day. We can easily shoot them down.

Russians have to build big bombs because historically their guidance systems have left a lot to be desired. While we're dropping smart bombs down air shafts on buildings, they just kinda park it over the general city block and flip the switch. They may have made some radical advances in the last ten years, but they've always been about 20 years behind us in military electronics. That being said, their physics guys have always been good and they say they've invented a new, more powerful explosive.....I'm agreeing with verk--I believe it.
