First time shooting

I was at the range today, and a guy offered me a chance at his Glock 21.
I had never fired a Glock before, but had handled them and thought they felt a little strange. The 21 has a fatter grip than my XDs do, and I thought I wouldn't be able to shoot it very well.

I shot 5 rounds each at 5 and 10 yards at a ccw target...a frickin' 3 inch group to the heart. I was astonished.

I may have to look into shooting a few different Glocks to see if purchasing 1 is in my future.

Don't hate me for being honest.

You cannot legislate morality, and banning inanimate objects will never substitute for personal responsibility. Banning and limiting things merely makes them profitable to criminals via laws of supply and demand.

No need to feel sorry for liking a Glock bud...they are very good weapons.
Some people like em...some don't...that said, they're still well constructed for the job they were meant.

Smile G23

I have the G23 and it shoots great. Just wish my range would let me shoot closer then the 15 yards they force everyone to set their targets at.

A 3inch group at 5-10 yards isn't anything to be excited about. My tactical will put magazine after magazine through the same ragged hole after I've got on my game for the day.

The only think I like about glocks is how they polish the black oxide and coat it with something to keep it from scratching/rubbing off.

Well you are a hero to someone I'm sure...just not me.
It was the first and only time I've ever fired a Glock that was totally uncomfortable in my hand. I think a 3 inch group was pretty exciting considering, "my game wasn't on".

Thanks for your otherwise worthless reply anyway.

Like others have said, nice gun. For me it was feel, I didn't like the feel of a glock as much as the XD. I'd never pass up either one, but if I'm paying, I'm getting what feels right.
Maybe you'll get lucky and find a few more free shots to help the decision process.
