My P220 is the most accurate and reliable pistol I have.

The Sig and the XD use the same barrel blanks and the way they work is the same.

Sig has been known for their accuract because they use hammer forged barrels. I dont know how the XD barrels are made but for me, they have been extremely accurate.

Within reason, both will be as accurate as you are. Sigs will have a bit better trigger (in single action). I like both, and hope to get me a sig 228 very soon.

I've got several 220's, 226's, and 225's as well as several XD-9's and XD-45's. Certainly the Sig's are better feeling and smoother. Just a more refined feeling. But more accurate? MAYBE, by a small amount, but not enough to matter to me.

Thnx for everyone's response. For some reason Sig has left an impression on me, through advertising, etc., that they are one of the more (if not most) accurate non-1911 guns. This thread has expanded my impression though. Thank you. |

I would have to say that as far as semi auto guns that are not non 1911 guns, Sig and XD take the blue ribbon for accuracy.
