Nevada CCP

Does anyone know what's going on with the Nevada CCP's???? My brother -in- law lives in Vegas and he did his CCP back in May. He still hasn't received it. He's called a bunch of times and they just give him the BS run around crap. Any input would be greatly appreciated!!!!! Thanks

It's all local, not state.

In Reno they say 120 days but in reality it is 2 weeks to 60 days depending on how busy the Sheriff Dept. is.

Good luck.

Vegas gets a lot of applicants, and IIRC they take a LOOOONG time to finish theirs.

In Reno mine took 65 days.

Mine from Washoe County Sheriff took 2 weeks. Really surprised me how quick and painless that process was. I'm adding more guns now on my permit, just talked with someone there today. Its rather unbelievable to me how helpful and accomodating they are, almost like they're encouraging concealed carry by law abiding citizens. Imagine that.

Sheriff's dept and LEOs here in generally are nicer than I've met anywhere else.

I've only ever had one run in with them (misunderstanding after dark in a park). Every officer I've met has been polite, professional and willing to help. On the street they don't mind stopping to say hello. And yes, the Sheriff's dept here is exceptionally helpful when it comes to CCW permits.

That is totally true. When I went down to apply after my class the lady at the front desk was as tolerant and nice as they could come. She patiently made sure I signed every line. Then when I went back for the fingerprinting anf processing that woman there was aslmost like an old friend as far as how she treated me.

I'm so used to mono tone public employees who don't give a damn. It was a pleasant experience plus I was in and out of there in 30 minutes, no more.

As far as I know he did. I was just wondering if it really can take up to 120 days. He says alot of his shooting buddies down there got them pretty quick. So I dunno what's up with his. Every time he's called they've checked and told him he has all the correct stuff in and it should be issued "soon".

When I applied for mine, in February 2007, it took LVMPD 41 days to get mine to me. When I added a new weapon in July, it took about a week to get the new updated card.

They have up to 120 days according to the statutes, so if applied for in May, that time frame should be just about up. Hope you get it soon.
