Reminds me of a hi point.. J/K But yea the grip is to fat for my liking, the pistol is to chunky all around

I admit, when I first saw it advertised I was drooling but now after feeling it and comparing it to others at that price range I wont look back.

SIG's are quality... you can find the less flashy iterations for a bit less, but if it floats your boat you won't be disappointed in the performance. They are awfully proud of the name, but they have damn good reason.. but rather than buy new, check out sigforums.com and snag a used one.. still the same great gun, just broken in and a better/more affordable price.

Because you get what you pay for.

And you're not supporting a quality firearms manufacturer.

so are you saying buy the most expensive gun you can afford? just to "support gun shops" i say buy the best deal. i have the 995 9mm carbine... i paid $199 for it.. added an ATI stock for $65 and i was set...why go looking to spend more just because i can? when you go car shopping... do you say... ok i can afford a $30,000 car.. so why even look at the ones for $15,000 even though they have the best warranty... etc" when you go ammo shopping do you say.. "i have $15 im gonna buy one 10 rd box of the best ammo out there" or do you say "i hav e$15, that can get me 100rds of winchester!" ... point is... its cheap, but it still fires bullets, same as any other gun...

edit, i see you have changed your original post a little... hehe

I had a Sig Equinox in .40. VERY high quality handgun. I sold it for 2 reasons.

1. I bought two XD's for the price of the XD

2. The grip was a bit wide, but sturdy. However, the long DA pull of the trigger did not favor my hand size. If I could have had a better trigger, I definitely would have kept the thing.

If you can test fire it, or another 229, i'd definitely recommend it.

I love Sigs but I would never buy them new. Used CPO Sigs are are around $500 and they are just as good as new ones.

The quality of Sigs are excellent but at the end of the day the XD is a better gun. Just as accurate, lighter, and higher cap.
