I've seen that before. I think there may be one for .40 and .45 too if my recollection serves me.

Having shot most of those, I can agree with it. I think I'd put the glock a little higher on the list though as far as overall value for the price goes. It's pretty subjective and all in all, those are all fantastic sub-500 dollar 9mms and it comes down to personal preference. The article has renewed my interest in finding a baby-eagle My buddy had one and it was a dream to shoot.

I loved this little part too: "Buy a C9 for every room in your house."

Sorry, but a "best 9mm" list with no FN Hi-Power or P226 SIG is not a very good list.

I agree with some of the list (the 92 Beretta, CZ-75, Glock 17, XD-9 and FNP-9) but some of that list (Baby Eagle and Witness) made no sense at all. You can get a nice used P226 for the prices they post for other pistols, but its not on the list...why?

(that Baby Desert Eagle is a boat anchor and has a horrible trigger...so does the PX4)

Good find, but I have to agree with Brickboy. I really think one at least the Sig should've made the list.

Great buys on Used Cop Guns. Many very good pistols too expensive for our list, can be bought in excellent used condition. Many police departments get new pistols every year, and only have a few thousand rounds through the trade-ins. These guns are so well built, they are just getting broke-in. Look for any S&W metal framed pistols with the 5906 being the top prize. Sig Sauer 226 and 229 are awesome. Springfield P9 is a CZ knockoff and a great shooter. H&K USP is one of the best. Any used Glock is a deal because replacement parts are so cheap. You can find these in the $250-$350 price range used.
Also take note of: The rules: The guns must be great shooters, reliable, good quality, and cost less than $500 USD new from a gun dealer. The $500 rule will exclude many fine 9mm pistols and competition guns. If you don't agree or have other choices, you can sound off in the Guest Book. Enjoy.

Of course there are tons of used guns for <500 out there that could be on the list.

I bought my Isralei surplus FN Hi-power for under 500 bucks. Ditto for my Swiss P225 SIG.

I wouldn't trade EITHER for anything on their list.

(and I have shot several of the ones they rave about)
