I am in the market for a 4" pistol chambered in the .40 S&W.....and have had my eye on one of the M-A1's for a while. I was just wondering if anyone has one or knows of someone who has one. It seems like a really good pistol from what I have read from places such as...

If you're lookin' for a 40, then you'd want a M40-A1. I have a M9-A1 and I love it. I just picked it up about a month or so ago, sold one of my XDs to get it.

You'll find the trigger a little heavy, much like the XD, after a few hundred rounds or so, it will loosen up. I find it points more natural than any other gun I own. It's like holding your fist out and pointing your finger. Since the bore axis is so low, recoil is zero.

I thought that I wouldn't like the sights, but I love them. There is a guy on the Steyr forum that makes kydex holsters for a great price, so, that's not an issue and, for a fun fact, you can modify S&W Sigma 40 mags to use with the Steyr.

You can get them from CDNN right now for $350 plus $10 shipping (plus whatever your local FFL charges to transfer). I'm planning on ordering the 9mm MA1 tomorrow.

mgeoffriau could you please post a link, from what I saw you had to be a licensed dealer to even look at their guns...

Download the PDF catalog. For some reason almost all the pistols says "CALL FOR PRICE" now (they used to display the price). But it's fun to call CDNN, and they often have smoking deals on good stuff. The Steyr's you'll find on page 6.
