1911 options in the $600 range

Do the members here have any consensus toward a short list of good 1911's that are available in the $600 range, give or take?

Right now I'm looking at the CZ 97B and the Taurus 1911.

Thanks for your opinions

You can get some Springfield 1911's for about that.

I think there was just a multi-page thread on this in the 1911 forum of XD Talk. I know Springer has STI Spartans for $625 delivered. Tough to beat an STI.

I hate to be the monkey wrench, but if what you're wanting is a single stack 45 auto that is well made and reliable...a Certified Pre-owned SIG P220 is definately in your price range.

Ever shot one? You should give it a look.

Give it a try...I love my 1911s, but when it hits the fan, I am carrying the P220. Why? Because it is the most reliable single stack 45 I have ever owned.

Thanks for the comments. I'll check the STI out.

As for the Sig220, I want one soon anyway. I'm borrowing a friends for my CCW class this Sunday so I have it on my permit when I get it. Nevada only allows 3 guns on a CCW at a time. So my first permit will have my XD45 Service, XD9SC and the Sig220

I know at Sportsman Warehouse, not far from where I live, is a Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec SS for $609.00. This will probably be my next one so I can join in the ranks of 1911 snobery.

I'll put my Taurus up against any gun mentioned here, not that any were bad, but for 599, you can get the PT1911 with night sights.....not a bad deal...and many of the guns mentioned here...including mine...only come with standard sights.
I only paid $499 for my Taurus and I've seen them now at 609+......
I'd buy another.
