Explaining the Sig "4-point safety system".
Sigarms unique 4-Point Safety System goes far beyond what you'll find on other pistols. Their safety system consists of (1) a patented automatic firing pin block, (2) a decocking lever, (3) a safety intercept notch and (4) a trigger bar disconnector. (sigpro line)
1. Ok, I get the function of #1, 2, and 3, but how exactly does the trigger bar disconnector work? 2. Also, on the newer Sigs, is it still possible to bypass the hammer intercept notch by thumb de-cocking(i know, a big no no. I use the de-cocker). I seem to remember a story of a LEO who thumb de-cocked a Sig, he dropped it on the hammer, and fatally shot himself. Don't recall the model, or when it happened, I do believe it was an older model though. |
