It will initially be offered in 5.56 and 7.62x51mm (.223 or .308). Other calibers will follow, because they have to in order to satisfy the military contract. There was no release date given for them.

Yeah!!!

Wow...a 308 with that short of a barrel...give a whole new meaning to the words "muzzle blast."

Knowing FN, this will be a high quality piece, but probably very expensive. You could probably get a relly decked out nice AR for what you'd pay for a stripped SCAR. That desert tan is very cool, though.

bowwow, the FNP does NOt have a Glock-like grip angle. In fact, I liked it because it felt very much like my Hi-Power. Put one in your hand...the FNP feels pretty good.

True. I held one a few minutes ago at Zues sporting goods in Egg Harbor Twp NJ. It points similar to a XD. Feels very nice...well put together.

Thumbs up

Okay, I have had my FNP-9 for over a year now, and I still can not say enough good things about that gun. It is FANTASTIC. Mine needed a little "breaking in". The first time I took it to the range, it had 3 failure to feeds, 2 failure to fires in 150 rounds. After that, never again did I have that problem. Last time I took it out, it hated Remington ammo, but loves everything else. My Ruger hated the same ammo, so I am not going to buy Remington anymore for handgun calibers. But not a single problem since otherwise. Freakishly accurate. That is what I like most about it. I have such an easy and fun time at the range. Easy to aim, fire, re-aquire the target fast, and fire again. Very simple to take apart and clean. Make sure gun is empty, no mag, nothing in the chamber, when all clear, turn lever, push slide forward, done.

The FNP will be around $550 as far as i have heard. The only really sad part is, only 400 will be available nationwide this year. More are planned for 2008. The 2 tone is sweet. Has all the great features of the 9mm/40s&w, combined with a new package. This was designed from the ground up to be a .45acp. I sooooooooo want two of them.
