MMMMMMMM 454 afterglow goodness
Satruday, a buddy came down to help me change the brakes on my pickup. We got that done and I grilled some burgers and had most of the fixins'.
After this we went out and shot some bowling pins. We had our .22 revolvers, scary black handguns (my XD 45, his glock 20), and his SRH in 454 Casull!!! THAT 454 RAWKS!!! Watching the water filled milk jugs exploding was fun. One flew about 10 feet high and 30 feet across. I didn't think that it kicked all that bad. I could feel it after one full cylinder, but it didn't hurt at all. I MUST own one,............sooooon. I'm still feeling a little giddy about that 454. The warm fuzzies that it gives me..................

Why stop there? Go for the .460 S&W Mag
I've never seen this, but I've heard that if you put a water jug on top of a cinder block and shoot the jug with a .454 Cassull, it will break the cinder block from the shock of the bullet hitting the water.

I'm in the Alaskan bush this summer and our helicopter pilot had his 454 bear gun out one night when i went plinking. He let me shoot a couple of his hot bear loads. I would have had a hard time shooting them quickly but they were completely manageable.
I also fully believe that the 454 would go through a cement block. |

I love flame throwers, still want to get a big .500 or .460 one day.
A hot .44 will go through a concrete block BTW. I believe that the .454 has taken every game animal in the world.

For the real delima,..........SRH in 454 Casull/45Colt, or Savage 12BVSS in 300WSM?
I think I will put the SRH on layaway. Hopefully sometime in the next month or two. The Alaskan model appeals to me more all the time, but it will wait until after the 7 1/2 inch barrel SRH,.....and possibly the Savage as well. decisions, decisions.........

I've been eyeballing the 7 1/2 SRH for a while, sweet and versatile, 700fps cowboy load, all the way to I'm hunting elephants, what more could you want.
A 12BVSS
