Bersa model 84
Anyone know how to field strip this thing? I've gotten the slide catch pivot pin pushed out but i'm stumped as to how to remove the barrel and slide. Thanks!

Disassembly/Field-Stripping is involved.
from itsacjthing posted at BersaTalk: "This is my method, make sure your Lusber is unloaded Check again that it is unloaded. Pull back on the slide about 3/4 inch and grasp the guide rod. Slowly let the slide move forward up to your fingers and pull forward on the rod. Then put downward pressure on the rod which forces the rear end up. Slowly release the rod and it should stick out about 3/8 inch. It is actually resting on the barrel lug above the hole. This should release the pressure on the slide catch pivot (serving also as the barrel pin) and you should be able to push it out from the right to the left side of the frame. If the guide rod is not sticking out from the front of the slide try it again. Don't force the slide catch / barrel pin or it will get damaged and I have not found anybody with replacement parts!" http://bersachapterhouse.50webs.com/model84.html |

ya, those are the steps I followed from that same forum. Problem is once you get the slide catch pushed out he doesn't say how to remove the slide or barrel.

Sadly it does not. The model 84 has no disassembly lever. This old pistol has really got me stumped

I think bersa guns, the barrel is pressed into the frame and is not user removable without a barrel press. Pull the slide all the way back and lift the rear of the slide up and then off the frame.
Its been a few years since I owned one though.
