I've got one and it's great. Very accurate and a blast to shoot. They break down easy for cleaning. I had a Ruger PC9 and sold it to get the Storm just because I think it looks better. Buy it you wont be disapointed.

I've got a CX4 Storm in .40 (got pics up in this forum).
I really like it. However, the stock trigger leaves much improvement. I did a do-it-yourself trigger job and it helped a lot! Since the sear is made of polymer, it will work itself out a little bit over time, but not a whole lot. I wanted a 9mm since it was cheaper and I don't own any .40 handguns, but the price was right so I opt'd for the .40. It's quite accurate to 100 yards using the stock iron or a red dot scope like i have attached I also have a 3x-8x scope that I haven't tried out yet, but I'm sure will add to the fun. There are quite a bit of accessories to buy for it, ppicatinny rails, lights, scopes, slings, lasers, barrel shrouds, grips. You can even swap out the magazine sleeve to match your Beretta handgun, (if you have one of course), to the 92, new PX Storm, Cougar... ...here's a pic of mine all duded out for the K9 unit: ![]() ![]()

I don't have a CX4 Storm, but I've read lots and lots of positive remarks about the gun. I was contemplating getting one, but ended up with a 9mm AR instead. I wouldn't mind getting one someday. Other than a couple minor complaints about the trigger and stock iron sights, I have not read about any problems with the gun.

I have a storm and it is my favorite gun to shoot. And due to the size, weight, reliability, accuracy and the fact that it is easier to clear a room with compared to my 870P, I have made it my "go to" weapon. So be it I hope to never have to use it. I have easily put 2000 rounds thru it and I have not had even 1 hiccup.
There is another forum, www.berettaforum.net/vb that has a long rifle forum that is pretty much taken over by the CX4. I originally bought he CX4 with the top, bottom and side rails, a hard case and the vertical grip. Then added the EOtech, the morese lekker shroud, and TLR1 light (that easily goes back to the XD whenever I feel like it). Then I converted it fromt eh 92 series mags to the PX4 (that hold 17 rounds of .40S&W). I chose the 40 over the 9, due to various pictures from BoT.com and personally just not liking the 9mm. Plus it gave me an excuse to buy a 40SC to pair to the 45C xd that I already had. The 40 does not kick (on either the CX4 or the XD) that badly. The gun is pretty accurate up to 100yds. And whenever I take it to the range, I get alot of.. what the hell is that? or is that a real gun? I even pass it off to people to get their expressions. The only complaint I have is the factory iron sights suck. They have a LR and SR similar to an AR but there is next to no difference, and they are so tight that it is hard to get a good sight picture in anyting other that great lighting. IR not great for HD, so I added the Eotech to remidiy that, after that upgrade it was almost perfect. Some complain about the trigger, but there are several sites that show how to shave it down to clean it up. I was worried about almost everything being made of plastic, (including the hammer), but after seeing several posts of people firing over 5000 rounds and still functioning great, I have no worries. I plan on getting a 45 before chirstmas, but I just wish it held more that 8 rounds. 13 like the XD would be a great improvement. Not as colorfull as the previous posts, but I still like it. And incase you have never the inner workings, the bolt on the CX4 is about half the gun in size. I think it reminds me of the M2 browning 50BMG. Last edited by spoolup : 07-31-2007 at 05:51 AM. |

I shot one in 9mm a couple of times.
Fun, fairly accurate and it has an overall "handy" feel to it. I love the way it looks and feels in the hand. It has almost no recoil and never jammed. I thought of getting one to accompany my 96 Beretta, but two things kept me from buying one right away. First...yes...the trigger. Its really hard to group past, say, 50yds because of the stagey, grittiness of the trigger. Knowing Beretta's triggers...its probably not very improvable. The sights could be better, but who could concentrate on sights with that awful trigger? I know it was not supposed to me a match rifle, but they could have done a little better than they did with the pull. Second, it is kind of pricey for what it is. Kel-Tec sells their pistol/rifle folding firearm for about half as much and the reviews are very similar. It does not look as cool as the Italian designed Beretta, but similar performance at half the price and the folding feature makes me want to look harder at the Kel-Tec Sub 2000 rifle more than the CX4. Since most CX4s around me sell for $600-650 - thats coming too close to AR prices and God knows the AR is a much more capable weapon and is easier to improve upon. - Brickboy240

The Storm gets great reviews by just about everyone who owns one, no matter the caliber.
I too wanted a lower cost (ammo cost that is) carbine, but rather than deviate from the primary weapons I use, I went and found a great deal on a 9mm AR. It fit the family (mostly RRA's) and allows for excellent training value. Same controls, same fit and function. I'm pretty big on continuity when it comes to the weapons I get for training and or ammo cost savings. Hence the Mosquito and the 9mm AR. Still, that being said, I really would love to get my hands on a .45 caliber CX4. It would make a great trunk gun
