1911's at cabelas

I went to cabela's today and looked at some springfield 1911's. Pretty nice but I didn't realize they were made in brazil. The guy at cabela's suggested that they are made by Taurus! I kinda laughed and said, yeah and John Deer is made by Toyota.

They are NOT made by Taurus, your BS meter was right on. The forgings are made by Imbel the GIs and most Mil-Specs are assembled in Brazil, anything with an "NM" prefix in the SN is assembled in the states.

Nothing wrong with springfields but you should look at S&W and Kimber also.

Cabelas in my town is overpriced. Pretty much everyone can beat their firearms prices. Do the touchy feely thing at Cabelas, but maybe make a purchase somewhere else.

Accually, they are made in the phillipins with STI internals but they are all hand fitted.

No matter, its a HELL of a gun and I will put the accuracy of mine up against any $1000.00 1911 on the market.
