Probably 99% (or more) of the counties in kali will not issue for any reason whatsoever to the average person with no political connections.

No, not the case with Placer, Yolo, and some of the other more rural counties. They will issue, you just have to give them a good reason to issue so they don't get in trouble. For the counties that issue, such as Placer, I've found that many LEOs are actually very supportive of 2A - they just have their hands tied by the local liberalcrats.

They want to be able to issue if you can provide some semblance of a reason - employment dealing with money, unsavory characters, dealing with potentially volatile people, business or whatever takes you to remote locations, closing the retail store late at night, etc., etc.

Tehama County is almost shall issue. That being said and as others have said you need a reason other than personal defense (almost any) in some cases.
Last year my initial permit took 7 days from turning in the app to picking up the permit. Gotta love the live scan vs the 10 cards

Simply not true. See for yourself, here are the county by county issuance numbers: http://ag.ca.gov/firearms/forms/pdf/...uances2006.pdf. Here are numbers for the cities (even excluding Reserve LEOs and Judges): http://www.calccw.com/Forums/county-...ws-2005-a.html.

Orange County issues to normal people (I have one and I'm "normal"), as do San Bernardino, Mariposa, Modoc, Inyo, Mono, El Dorado, Tehama, San Luis Obispo, Madera, Sutter, Kern, Shasta, Tulare, Mendocino, Butte, Fresno, San Joaquin, and more. Many cities will issue even inside counties where the Sheriff won't - even LA County.

People routinely underestimate CA. The vast portion of this state is conservative and gun-friendly. Unfortunately for the rest of us, the majority of the population live in a few cities and currently power the state gov't.

Those folks who say things like "It's impossible to get a CCW in CA" either havn't tried, have something on thier record, or live in a county in which the sheriff won't issue. I CCWed for several years before becoming a cop. My dad and brother still do. I know first hand that it is possible to get a CCW in this state.

Instead of complaining about the state of affairs CA is in, how about working to change it? Start with local elections (Board of Supervisors, City Council, Sheriff, etc.) and work up from there. Change won't come overnight, but it can happen if more gun owners get involved in politics.

Here some reasons why I love California.

Disneyland
Malibu Beach
And of course the sunset.

San Bernardino has a high count. I have good reasons and I have a good record. Is Age (25) a problem.

I was 27 when I got mine, my brother was 28. Just make sure to be professional in your interview and you should be fine.

To clarify: the counties that hold about 99% of the people in Kali will not issue a CCW for any reason whatsoever.

I know a few rural counties issue.
