Now I know why they come up for sale on a regular basis. LEO's don't trust them. Good price used, might make a good range gun if you want a 40 as a toy.

Wow...I have never experienced a failure from my 96 Beretta. I actually like its heft for calming the 40SW round's recoil - its certainly softer than the XD-40 in the recoil dept. Its a failry accurate pistol, too.

My only complaint about the 96 Beretta has been that its too big for CCW, but for home defense, its perfect. I also like the long sight radius.

I keep mine loaded and at the ready as my home defense pistol. With Mec-Gar's excellent 12 round mags, it is just as lethal as the XD or other 12rd 40 autos.

Sorry, but I have not found the 96 Beretta to be unreliable in the least.
