Difference between an AK and a shotgun pattern?

Bigger holes. Yes, that's it. My AK-47 variant hits POA usually, but it's no tackdriver. No AK's are, from what I hear.

What's the point of the thread? The AK is plenty accurate at the distances most combat is fought at. As long as it can hit a human sized target out to 300 meters (which the rifle is perfectly capable of) it's good.

I had a kit-built AK that would hold 5" groups at 100yds with wolf HP's and iron sights.
Not bad for the type of weapon, IMHO.

My chinese SKS, with pinned barrel, trigger job, and 11* crown will cut that in half

AK's can be exceptionally accurate and even though I'm mostly an AR guy, I've got tons of respect. A 5" group at 100m isn't near what even a $400 AK with a straight FSP can do if the shooter does his/her part

Make no mistake, the AR is more accurate as a rule, but that's the weapon. The shooter is really what counts. Any good shooter will adjust to the way the weapon shoots and when that comes to be, the AK or the AR are very deadly out to at least 300m... at least

....thats because you don't know what you're shooting. The AK is more accurate than you think and probably shoots better than you. Just from your statement above, I'll beat a 30rd score card of yours in my first 10 rounds with an AK at 100 yards. With open sights, standing, unsupported.

And you think I'm kidd'n......

There he is... I'm with him. I've never had problems with accuracy at 100 yards with an AK also from standing, unsupported, open sights. You must have heard that no AK's are accurate from someone who hasn't shot one or who can't shoot worth a ****.

A buddy and I shoot at a down sized silhouette (14"X16") at 100 yards with his AK and my SKS. No supported shooting either. No longer than 1 second per shot. A miss is rare. They are eminently shootable!
