AK or AR
my girlfriend wants to get one of these what are you views on these. the gun is just for fun no hunting or anything

Just for fun.....
Get an AK first. They are much less expensive, the ammunition is generally less expensive as well. My AK cost me < $400 when I bought it....now thats a bargain.

AK's are a little cheaper, reliable as hell, cheaper ammo. accuracy is a debate that wont die like the 10mm vs the .40
AR a little more money. reliable, ammo can be found at a bargain if you shop around, Accurate out to a couple hundred yds. more companies make toys for them I would get a AK, I have a AR and love it, But I bought it for competition not fun, If I was gonna get one ore the other for fun it would be a AK

Go for the AK then. Most won't win any accuracy awards (though some expensive ones are nice), but they're fun as H E double-hockey-sticks!
