New-to-Me P7 PSP!
Picked up my Grade "B" today. Sorry fellas, I am not a professional photographer, and regardless of what a lot of gun forum people might think, buying a $700 SLR doesn't automatically turn you into one! I shoot and edit professional video for a living, so still photos aren't my forte. Nonetheless, here's my 1 megapixel pics of my 1986 PSP. There is some wear on the frame at the front of the trigger guard, and some wear on top of the slide at the junction of the rounded top with the flat sides, but that's about it. I would rate this pistol at somewhere between 85 and 90%.
So what if she doesn't come with a scraper tool and a bore bursh, you want me to ask for a refund? I was planning on a refinish, but I think I am going to carry this for a few years before even thinking about that. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Very nice. I am more of a fan of the P7M8 but a PSP is nice too. Especially one in this condition. It looks like it just rolled off the line!

For those of us who only drool over P7's rather than owning them, what is the significance of the PSP and the M8 monikers?

The PSP was the original. Because of the way the gas system works (unlike any other pistol), they found that the PSP heated up after a few mags, right above the trigger. On the M8 version, they added a heat shield in the area above the trigger and an American magazine release. The PSP is what the German Police had been carrying for a long time. Now that they are switching to something else (another HK), these have been plopped on the US market. For ~1/3 the price of an M8, I'm not complaining one bit! Even on the M8, the heat is unbearable if you don't let the gun cool down.
Another thing most people don't realize is that the PSP does not have amag release like a traditional Euro pistol. Instead of having to push the mag release to the rear of the grip, you push the PSP mag release to the front. It is a similar motion to that of taking out an AK mag, or an M1A. It's the whole "grab and clasp" method. It's pretty damn easy and the mag shoots right out. Last edited by boricua9mm; 06-13-2007 at 06:15 PM. |

Here you can see the thumb style release of the P7M13(same as M8 but with a 13 round mag). ![]() This is the PSP and you can see the thumb release is not there.
