I've got one and I like it just fine. DAO is not for everyone, but I like it in a carry gun. It's not particularly comfortable to shoot, but pushing full tilt boogie defense loads out of something that small is bound the smart just a little. It's a good carry gun due to size and weight. The first year production had some issues, but they have been corrected and the gun is now one of the 3 in the rotation of what I pick up when I leave the house.

Unless he picked one up in the past several months, I don't believe D owns one. IMHO, while he recognizes a good value, he is a more discerning firearm owner.

I have a friend who bought one for his GF to carry, they have had some feeding problems with it so she does not carry it just yet!

Delija sold his XD and has a Ruger MK II I believe. I don't recall him mentioning a Skyy.

Try some heavy loads in a Kahr .40 S&W compact, I can usually get through about 3 mags in a row before I have to pick up something with less snap like a .45 ACP or a .44 mag.

You know anytime that you have something that small it is gonna smart. My 2" snubbie will start to smart after a dozen rounds. It is the nature of the beast. However as long as it is small and dependable isn't that what really matters. Yes we need to be able to hit the target but is not a recreational gun.

To clear this up.......

I've never owned a Skyy. I guess a lot of people may get me and Capt.Ray mixed up because we are so similar in so many ways...LoL

I did sell my XD, but it had nothing to do with the MKII....I had both for a while. The MKII is the third Ruger MK .22 I've owned. I also just recently bought a Ruger Single Six.

I just LIKE .22 caliber. My favorite and by far most used gun right now is my 10/22 - super accurate and cheap to shoot. And fun to shoot. I recently I bought a CZ 452 American in HM2, and it is insanely accurate - and right out of the box. The 10/22 was an entire re-build (but a fun project). Ammo is cheap mail order and expensive in stores.

I carry a Kel-Tec P-32, but rarely shoot it at the range. (Maybe that gun got mixed up with the Skyy?). Not fun to shoot, but very easy to carry. I found the XD too much for me to carry - South Florida - can't really dress around a gun. Pocket carry works out for me ideally (with a pocket holster).

I have handled the Skyy at a gun show....never shot one. But it did not feel as "solid" as the Kel-Tec....nothing really tangeable that I can put my finger on....just the overall feeling. Of course without shooting one, that impression doesn't mean much.

The Skyy CPX and KT P11 certainly do look very similar.

Peace,
D.

If anybody is interested in one, I will be listing mine shortly.

I went on the word that it was the same size as the P3AT and that just aint the case.

I put about 30 rounds through it to make sure of it's functionality, but it is just too big, I will be selling it.

You bought it sight unseen? How does one accomplish that? On line?

I think the Skyy and the kel tec p11 are the same size. But the P3AT/P32 are a totally different size gun (MUCH smaller). And as far as I know, the only guns of their type (locking breach, lightweight frame).

I've handled (not shot) the 9mm (Luger) Rohrberg (sp?)...feels like quality, nice DA trigger, heavy (all steel). Even so, I've heard from several people who have shot the Rohrberg that even with its weight, it is not a pleasant gun to shoot.

Sometimes I wonder if a .22 Magnum wouldn't be an ideal caliber for a concealed carry weapon. Virtually no felt recoil, and (i believe) more energy than a .32, or a .380, and possibly even more than a Makarov (??)

Peace,
D.

I wondered what happened to him...
