Used Kimber Ultra Carry II
My buddies dad just got a Kimber Ultra Carry II .45ACP with Trijicon night sights. He got it in a trade for some motor or crap, but anyways I was wondering what would be a fair price on a used Kimber? It seems to be in decent shape but could definitely use an internal cleaning, and a good oil. He said he wants $500 for it, but I'm just thinking that seems too high for a used Kimber that isn't in mint condition. I was thinking more like $350 especially since I don't know how it was used previously. I just love the look and feel, and would be so much easier to carrry than my XD .45. He doesn't really know squat about guns, which was obvious when he didn't know how to work the safety, or the fact that he didnt know he had night sights till I mentioned it lol. What do you feel is a good deal for a gun like this?

At $500 you're still getting a heck of a deal. At $350 you're ripping off your buddies Dad. It should be priced around $700 used.

I gave $975 for mine with Meprolight Tritium night sights new. Just sold it about a month ago with alot of use and some holster wear for $800 so I think you are getting a great deal at $500

I've got a used Ultra CDP on lay-away for $750. Not much wear at all on it. Innards look good. The Ultra Carry II on the Kimber website has a MSRP of $937 w/ night sights, $828 without, and $1197 for the LG model (whatever the crap that adds). The Ultra CDP II is marked as $1255. Just make sure you're looking at the right gun. If you want to be fair to him, tell him to take it to Gander Mtn. to see what blue-book would be.
At $350, I'd be inclined to cry rape.

Yeah he doesnt know squat about guns and like i said until i pointed out the night sites he didnt know they were there, lol. But yeah i dont wanna rip him off even if he is pretty much in that business himself, he just does it with cars and bikes, but he doesnt know guns and i said i didnt really wanna pay $500 when i could just upgrade my XD .45 with lots of accessories for cheaper than that, but i figured he could probably get $600 for it from somehwere else.

$750-$800 would be fair, you're ripping him off for $500.

I think you better double-check that price--that sounds off by at least $200. |

Man,
Let me give him a call... I'd gladly pay $500 for an Ultra Carry. I'd pay $700 without blinking (if I had it). Buy that pistol, man. Do it! You will kick yourself for the rest of your life if you pass up this deal. Sell a kidney if you have to! joe
