1100 vs. 1187
I was always curious what the difference was between the two shotguns. I am wanting to buy one or the other but i would like more info on them. SO, what are the differences between them, and are there certain things that each one is better suited for. I'm looking to get one for shooting clays and for dove hunting. Thanks for the help!

The 11-87 is the updated version of the 1100 and incorporates a gas regulating sustem for better reliability.
I have an 11-87 slug gun that I absolutely love.

I believe the 1100 is 2-3/4" only, and the 11-87 can handle 3" loads. 1100 is lighter and more of a classic clays gun. The 11-87 is more robust and is more of a utilitarian hunting/clays/do it all gun.

That was my understanding also I have a couple of 1100's and really like them esp. the Lt 20

There was a 3" Magnum 1100 made for a while, but the 11-87 is setup for 2.75" and 3" out of the box. And the 11-87 is less finicky about loads.
I have an 870 and an 1100 now. I'm on the prowl for an 11-87, but it'll be a while before I scrounge enough for the new 105 CTi.

Hooz youre thinking along with me I want the new one too 105CTI ( hope I got the numbers in the right order ) I have a lot of shotguns but the new model intrigues me, I mostly only shoot my 1100's and a 1300 winchester defender now but a good Lt Wgt shotty is a thing of beauty.

Yeah. There are a lot of nice things about the 105 CTi (Carbon-fiber/Titanium), and shotguns are my first love. I'm holding off for a while though, both due to cost and reliability issues with the current (first year) guns. Maybe next year I'll pick one up... I have plenty to keep me occupied in the meantime.

I have a 11-87 that I shoot clays with. I love this thing and plan on hunting geese with it.

I have yet to see anything that the 105CTi does better than my 11-87.
