Any Irish-Americans out there? (movie alert)

This film won Best Film at Cannes and looks to be a winner.

If you're of Irish ancestry (I am half), you might find this film interesting. If you collect Enfields, you might also enjoy this film.

Released in limited markets in the USA and Europe (probably because of its political slant) this film will soon be out on DVD and you can bet I'll be buying it.

Check out the trailer...it looks fantastic, if you ask me.

About half Irish myself. I made a quick search on movietickets.com and came up with nothing in this area, so I'll be looking for it on DVD.

It won't be avaialble on US DVD format until mid to late May (according to Amazon...they have it in European/Brit DVD format since March).

Other good Irish revolution movies are "Michael Collins" starring Liam Neeson and "In the Name of the Father" starring Daniel Day Lewis. I have both on DVD and they are very powerful flims, indeed. This new release also looks like a keeper.

My wife is of Irish decent. There is debate about if there was Irish or Scottish ancestry somewhere way back on my moms side. were talking French/Indian wars period.

long story short we are big history buffs and especially anything irish/scottish that is realistic.

Looks like a good pic. I'm no Irish, but anybody who wants to kick the English out of their country has my sympathies as a Yank.

The English treated the Irish MUCH worse than they did the Colonists.
