Ram Line 50 Round 10/22 mag - FTF question

I went shooting Saturday and tried out a new Ram Line 50 round magazine for my 10/22. On a previous thread a couple posters indicated that the Ram Line's were notorious for FTF. I was only able to fully load it and empty it twice because we had a full agenda, what with my XD45, my brother-in-law's new cowboy repro in .45 long colt, and sighting in my father-in-law's new Ruger M77 MkII in .338 Win Mag.

Anyway, each time I had a couple of FTFs in the first 5 rounds, and then the remainder fed without a problem. It seems that when the spring is fully compressed it isn't feeding the round properly. I had a similar problem with one of my mags when my XD45 was new, but it resolved itself after I left the mag fully loaded for a couple of days. Might a similar approach might solve the problem with the Ram Line?

I was having a similar problem awhile back. Bought half a dozen of these things, and none of them fed reliably. I ended up having to trim a little of the plastic from the top in front of thr bullet because it interfered with it aligning with the chamber If that was your problem, it was a pretty easy fix.

I noticed that flash on the mag. I'll trim it off and try again. Thanks for your comment.
