Just couldn't resist

Broke down an ordered an Enfield, got it Tuesday. A No. 4 Mk I. Ordered from Century good condition for $99.87. Metal in good condition, a little surface rust, but not much, wood in pretty good shape and the bore is very nice. My milsurp collection is growing.

Good luck sighting it in. My dad has one and we were shooting it at about 200-300 yds. We'd take a shot, look in the scope, nothing. We did that for about 30 rounds and decided that either we couldnt shoot worth a dang, we were too far out, or it just wouldn't sight in correctly.

They are pretty cool though.

Just trying to get a collection of WWII milsurps, at least one from each of the major powers, allied and axis.

Still new in the collection game, and have MN's and now this one. I will be adding more.

Besides, you have to love the Enfield. It (various models) was UK's major battle rifle through two world wars. Probably, and I could be wrong here, no other military rifle has the longevity of the Enfield other than the Mosin Nagant.

Because they are some of the best shooting of the WW2 era. Very fast action for a bolt gun.

It might have been the mount if it wasn't an S&K. It is the only mount that works really well on an enfield. I've never had a problem sighting mine in since I got it. At 300 yards from a solid rest my .303 avgs 3.38" and drops only 11.89" using Hornady 150grSP ammo. By the way if your talking about open sights I dunno cause I haven't ever had that problem either.

This is my favorite Enfield. I know some think it is sacrilege to sporterize an Enfield but the last four inches of barrel was badly damaged so it was a good candidate. Any way with Hornady 150grSP ammo it avgs just under an inch at 100yds from the bench. In the pic below all shots were fired from field positions.

xdron40: That is a sweet looking example of the breed!
