Mosin front sight question

My brother has a 1946 made Mosin M44, does anyone know how to drift the front sight, or can you point me to a webapage with instructions. thanks . . .

If the bayonet doesn't help, it's just a hammer and punch up front. The post is just sitting in a dovetail base, so it should go either way without a lot of persuasion.

Yes, good suggestions. These were made to be shot with the bayonet extended. Although I have shot them with the bayonet folded and still was able to hit my target.
If you really need an adjustment a block of wood to brace, hammer and a metal punch should do the trick. If it's stubborn, then some liquid wrench or even WD-40 should loosen the dovetail. I've noticed that some sights even had "hash" marks on them to show where previous shooters have had success. Look for them if you can and line them up, it may help you get in the right direction.
