I think the Bersa is one of the better values out there. For the price you get a reliable, accurate weapon. The Concealed Carry model hides very nice, a bit better than a PPK. I upgraded to a Sig and am very happy with it, but paid more than twice as much. I may pick up another CC in the next gun show - I liked it THAT much.

I've got an older Bersa 86 [13+1] and originally purchased it for my wife, but this has become my favorite to carry. 13 +1 and this model has the rubber grips. Plus it is just a lot of fun to shoot. So far, I had one failure to extract: other than that, utterly reliable.

Woof
Bowser

PS: Yes, this one does not like any aftermarket mags: factory only and they are both hard to find as well as expensive.

A buddy just bought a SIG P230 for $300 - In my opinion I'd rather spend the extra 50% and buy a SIG. That's my opinion though. The Bersa seems to be a good gun if you tinker and troubleshoot it a bit. I would put it in a class with the Kel-Tecs - could be a good gun if the stars are aligned on the one you pick out.

I carry a Bersa most of the time. It's a great little gun.

It is heavy for it's size. If weight is not an issue, then go for the Bersa.

Ah yes, the P232 is a fine piece. Sadly, its double the price of the Bersa.

In nice long threads on GLOCKtalk and thehighroad.org as well as on bersatalk.com that does not seem to be even remotely true. The Bersa will, in all likelihood, work right out of the box.

I think you can still find quite a few P230s around for less money than new-production P232s. My friend's P230 was basically a NIB gun made in East Germany. I could drop 8" plates at 10 yards at a pretty rapid pace, and the 380 round didn't have a problem dropping them at all.
