nikon - I can't verify the actual percentage reduction in recoil, but I can say that it was significantly reduced on my Mossburg 590. I love it! Let me know if you get one.

My friend has an 870 express with that knoxx stock. It's the only shotgun I've ever shot so I don't have anything to compare it to, but IMO the recoil wasn't horrible. The explosion when firing was pretty impressive since I've never fired or been around a shotgun before, but the recoil into my shoulder wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought it was going to be. It's a really nice piece. If/When I get a shotgun that's definitely the stock I'm getting for it.

Just my 2 cents.

The 870 is a great shotgun. When I was looking for a tactical shotgun it was either that or a Mossy and I found the Mossy first. Either way the Knoxx works well.

I am seriously considering a Knoxx myself. I have a Speedfeed at the moment.

[off topic]

Hey Alaskapopo - is that the Mesa Tac sidesaddle, or the TacStar?

[/off topic]

Everyone I've talked to says that the Knoxx stocks are VERY impressive. I plan on getting a CompStock for my 500 here in the near future.

The only issue you run into with a Mossberg and a pistol grip type stock is that you have to remove your hand from the grip to disengage the safety. The Maverick 88 is identical to the Mossberg 500 except for the safety being placed on the trigger gaurd.

All that being said... I'm ordering the Knoxx stock for my Remington 870.
