I got to shoot a real hand cannon today
My uncle just bought a new handgun, the S&W 460 XVR. What a beast. http://www.smith-wesson.com/webapp/w...07&isFirearm=Y
He picked it up this morning and we had to try it out. The thing weighs in @ 5 lbs. and has an 8 3/8" barrel. It is one hefty piece of equipment. I hit a gallon jug of water at 100 yards. It took 2 tries, and I was using sandbags, but the round only dropped 4 - 5" at that distance. I personally don't have any use for that size, but it was sweet. If you ever get a chance to try one, it is worth the buck a shell. |

My FIL has the .460; it really is a beast! Just wait until the ammo ravages your wallet...

I've rented on twice at my local range. It is a hell of a revolver hehehe. I love the gun but can't bring myself to spend the 1200 for a gun I probably would never use to its fullest intention. That and the $32 a box Hornady ammo would get tiresome, hehehe.
Fun gun to shoot though. The first time I shot it I'm guessing the folks in the lanes next to me got a little startled by the massive BOOM this gun makes. EVERYONE stopped shooting and walked over to see what was going on. On the third shot the metal box covering the motor of the target retriever came down. The second time shooting it a light fixture came down behind me almost on top of the Range master, hehehe. Good times and a very cool firearm.
