Got my Ruger 10/22 today!!! :)

Yay!! I got my 10/22 today. Went to Dick's Sporting Goods, got it for $189.99. Not too shabby. I went with the standard blued barrell and the birchwood stock. I figured it didnt matter what color the stock was, because I want to replace it anyway. I went to the range with a brick of 500 Remmington Thunderbolts... This rifle rocks!! I love the way it shoots, and it is dead on! I cant wait to start modifying this gun to taste!!

Oh by the way... also picked up a 30 round mag!! Yeehaw!

lol, nice choice, and congrats on your new rifle. I look forward to seeing photos as you start to upgrade it and change it to your preference.

Its a great little rifle. I've had mine since 1982 (bought is used). Over the years, I put more than 35,000 rounds through it without a single problem. This year I replaced the barrel because the blue was finally wearing off and refinished the stock. Lots of aftermarket options too.

I've had mine since the mid 80's. It has worn many different stocks and I have used all kinds of mags. A couple months ago it got a new Clerke heavy barrel and a Hogue Overmolded Stock.

That's the beauty of the 10/22. Mine has gone from sporter to "tacti-cool" back to sporter and now to target. All this and a gunsmith has never touched it!

Thats the cool part... you can be the gunsmith with this gun. There is no part in the thing that is so overcomplicated.... its very simple..... Oh yea... very tacti-cool as well!! .... but is it good enough for the Reno Mall Ninjas???

The 10/22 is perhaps the greatest firearm ever made. It should definately be in the hall of fame.

congrats on getting the rifle. Tread carefully... you will soon be wanting to spend tons of money upgrading it. Luckily my 10/22 cost me nothing, my dad bought it for me when I was a kid. I did spend about $250 on the stock and barrel though (thankfully the barrel was about 1/2 off).

Here's what mine looks like now. The only things I'm going to end up doing to is is upgrading the trigger eventually, and put a different scope on it.. then I'll be good to go and think I can live without any other upgrades.

Mine was just the normal blued with the wood stock. I purchased a fajen legacy adjustable stock, then a butler creek carbon fiber barrel.
