Well here is my little story. Before I bought the xd i contemplated the 26 or 27. I held both the glock and xd 40 sc at the store a handfull of times. I bought the xd and never looked back. After having the xd for a month or so I met my buddies at the range. One of them a Pittsburgh cop had a g23 and 26 i believe. His 23 duty weapon had multiple ftf and fte's 4-5 i believe out of 100 rounds. He threw the g23 in disgust on the ground (empty no mag, outdoor range) and pulled his 26 from an ankle holster. After I shot his 26 i was kind of dissapointed. The grip is much smaller than the xd sub. However he loved the feel and added length of the xd's grip. Does this mean anything probably not, but the xd fits me much better than that smaller 26 did.

Given an either/or choice, I would suggest the XD9SC. If you are open to other options, might I suggest:

The CZ RAMI is a fantastic subcompact 9mm pistol. I have been amazed at the accuracy of this little piece every time I have taken it to the range. You can find out more over at the CZ-USA site:

Hope this helps....

They're all good. But I have to admit, I like knowing I have a grip safety too when I'm carrying. You really have to work to have an AD or ND.

Both are nice

But the xd service carries just as well and really is a good platform for CCW.

The G26 (baby Glock) and slightly larger G19 are excellent CCW weapons. They seem less chunky than the XD SC9. I too thought the baby Glock was going to be too small for my hands, but with the pinky extension it is a joy to shoot, and expands mag capacity to 12+1, which for a subcompact is awesome.

You should be able to rent both at a range and try them. I used to own a XD SC40 and did not like the kick, but the 9 is also a joy to shoot. It may come down to which one you like holding and carrying more.

for a constant carry weapon i'd op for the XDSC9 over the G26.

i have shot the G26, and do like it though, it shoots well. if your experienced with handguns and handgun safety, go for the G26. if your just not sure of yourself, that added grip safety may give you a bit more comfort when carrying for the first time.

cheers

I love my glock 26. I prefer Glocks trigger to the stock XD trigger.

You need to pick up a H&K P2000 sk it will be the last subcompact you will ever consider. I have one in 40 and have never had any kind of problem with it at all. Every round that has headed for the chamber has fired and that"s what you want in something that your gonna put your life on. Don't be scared away when you see the price it is well worth it, hey what is your life worth?

Sounds like he was shooting crap ammo. Glocks are very reliable guns.

Hk's are ok pistols but they are top heavy and I hate their triggers. I used to carry a HK USP in 45 acp as my first duty gun.
