For all you Galil Fans

Aim Surplus just got some in. The bad news: Century assembled them and they are $850 Bucks. I understand that may be a good price, though. Not sure how "authentic" it is. I'm sure Einheit will know, the man is a virtual walking encyclopedia of all things related to the Kalashnikov (sp).

Check it out: http://www.aimsurplus.com/acatalog/G...223_Rifle.html

I actually recently got a Century AK47 underfolder and I was quite happy with the quality, many other have said similar things that the quality of late is 10 fold.

I suppose I should have qualified my statement with the fact that I have never owned a Century-Built gun. I own an M44 that they imported, and am happy with it. I just know a lot of people would pass at the mere sight of their name.

I am personally not enough of a fan of the Galil to drop $850.

build one yourself. unless they've changed, thier kits were in pretty nasty shape. I bought 3 kits and sent them all back because of condition/damage
/unusable parts.

Centerfire is taking orders for CAI Galils for $799.

http://www.centerfiresystems.com/ind...OD&ProdID=1120

Century quality is very hit and miss. But every cai Galil I've seen has been crap. The kits they're built from are crap, and since they're not willing to put in the effort of fixing all the problems and doing a total refinish, the gun is crap. I have one of the kits that I'm going to have Derek build for me shortly, so I can tell you first hand the kits are crap. But good kits are in very short supply, so I'll use what I have.

If you buy a CAI Galil just be prepared to overlook alot of cosmetic defects, and possibly fix some functional defects.
