Florida Handgun Private Transfer Question

I've looked and looked, but can't find the laws for Florida on what needs to be done to transfer a handgun. A private transfer between 2 individuals, no $$ transfered. A Gift.

My boss has a 45ACP (not XD) that he is going to give me. It's a Semi Auto, inexpensive gun. But it's free! (he's good like that giving stuff he doesn't want to friends, family and coworkers)

I'm pretty sure he got the 45 from another employee who traded it to my Boss for his Remington Wingmaster!!! I trust my boss, but don't personally know the history of this 45.

Questions are:

--Do I need to run the Serial # thru somewhere?

--Just take it and run?

--Do we need to do some sort of transfer?

--Do I need to be concerned if I trade it at a gunshow for another gun?

Thanks in Advance!!!

Thanks Corba, appreciate the response. Easy enough.
