FN FiveseveN

A very unique pistol. I held one at the store a few weeks ago and looked at the bullets. It looks like they shrunk a .223 rd. 20 rd standard mags, wow. Ammo is very expensive.

Anyone own one or atleast get to shoot one a few times? What do you guys think? I think I found another gun to put on the extremely long wish list. The only problem is the amount of money, not just to buy the gun, but also to shoot it.

I shot a guy's once after an IDPA match. Felt guilty when I found out how much the ammo was. It shot OK, not a ton of recoil, kind of strange feeling. I can't imagine have a wish list that was so long the FN was on it.

Its a great pistol if you like .22 mag performance and you are faced with attacking field mice, rabbits and other vermin. But as a combat pistol it sucks due to its extreemly weak ballistics.

The thing I noticed when I held one, they are extremely light weight. They weigh about as much as an airsoft pistol.

Extremely weak ballistics? .22 magnum performance? What am I missing?

The Five-seveN has rounds designed to penetrate all forms of body armor at 2300fps. Not the knock down of a .45 but plenty of zing to punch through some BG's ceramic vest.

It is on my list as well. The only thing that keeps it a little ways down is the ammo cost and price of the weapon itself.

Our SWAT guys played with them, but both the weapons and ammunition were cost-prohibitive.
