Concealed carry question.....
Hi
I recently got my ccw permit in pennsylvania, i noticed that alot of other states "accept" this permit as well, my question is, i travel from pa down to georgia often, and drive through va,north carolina, and south carolina, out of those three states, the only one that dosent recognize my permit is south carolina, which i have to drive through to get to georgia, which does accept my permit. So i was wondering that when i get to south carolina, can i still have my gun with me? unloaded with the ammo somewhere else in the vehicle until i get to georgia, or will i get arrested even if it is unloaded ?? Thanks. |

Unload it and lock it in the trunk gun and ammo must be seperate and mag should be unloaded. Then it will fall under the federal peacable journey law.

Scroll down to (9) ' a person in a vehicle if the handgun is secured in a closed glove compartment, closed console, closed trunk, or in a closed container secured by an integral fastener and transported in the luggage compartment of the vehicle; however, this item is not violated if the glove compartment, console, or trunk is opened in the presence of a law enforcement officer for the sole purpose of retrieving a driver's license, registration, or proof of insurance'

Im not nessisarily answering your question, but you must follow the laws of the state you are in. If that state hs recipricosity, then you can carring in that state too, accoding to thier laws. Packing.org is a good place to start.
If a given state doesnt accept you permit, follow peacible journy law if only passing threw. If staying for a bit (ie not just passing threw) you have to conform to that staes laws. |
